The Directors of Spirit Capital (Pty) Ltd are pleased to announce the acquisition of a majority interest in CHC Resources (Pty) Ltd.

Nature of business

Resources was established in 1987 and imports and distributes bulk chemicals, niche polymers, films and adhesive products and provides comprehensive logistics and warehousing services to customers throughout Southern Africa. The company has recently re-established its niche chemical distribution business following the sale of CHC Chemicals to Crest Chemicals in June 2009.

Rationale for transaction

Management of CHC Resources secured the right to acquire the business from the founders and identified Spirit Capital as the ideal partner to assist in concluding the transaction and executing on the business’ growth plans.
